Bachelor of Arts (Government) -University of Sydney

Sarah is a commercial litigator and employment lawyer with over a decade of experience in
business management before becoming a lawyer. This makes her an excellent strategist,
project manager and negotiator of issues, which are always approached with common-sense
to achieve a commercially sensible outcome.

Sarah has several years of experience as a commercial litigator, representing both claimants
and defendants in various courts and tribunals across Australia including in the Federal
Courts, state Supreme Courts, District Court and Local Court, and administrative tribunals.

With a special interest in litigation and employment matters, Sarah regularly assists clients
with all aspects of employment agreements and compliance with the Fair Work Act and
modern awards. She appears before the Fair Work Commission and the Federal Courts for
clients if relationships become fractured.

Sarah also acts in defamation suits, real estate and commission claims, restraint of trade
matters, consumer claims and all contested contract and commercial disputes, and has
represented:

  • A company and its directors in a shareholder dispute which involved allegations of
fraud on the Unit Trust holders
  • A high net-worth investor and property owner in a claim which was favourably settled
    days before the hearing
  • Real estate agents, licencees and directors in regulatory matters relating to payroll tax
    and surcharge land tax assessments
  • Franchisees defending breach of contract claims involving unfair contract terms and
    standard form contracts
  • Real estate agents and vendors pursuing and defending commission claims
  • An employer in Federal Court proceedings for unfair dismissal
  • An employee in a claim involving sham contracting
  • A creditor initiating bankruptcy proceedings against an unresponsive judgment debtor

Her ability to communicate and understand her clients’ needs in a calm and efficient manner
means that your matter will be handled with a view to a practical and commercially viable
resolution.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys cooking for family and friends. Sarah is a Third Dan Black Belt
in Taekwondo (so don’t get on her bad side!) She also likes to take a break from reading law
throughout the day by reading literature at night, going to the theatre and spending time with
her family.
